Avnevi

Avnevi, exteerior
Avnevi is a late medieval church near Tskhinvali, in so called South Osetia, now controlled by Russia. The old Georgian village has survived with the Church and Georgian school.

The church is of Triconch type, built in 14-15-th centuries, on the facades there are number of stone carvings and figure compositions; some of them are reused and dated back to 10-th century.
